Learn to compliment your dynamic asana flow (yang yoga) with a slower-paced practice (yin yoga) to create a balanced movement experience enhancing your relaxation response. Animals & Asanas

Join Yury for a look at different approaches to yoga for group fitness drawing from animal patterns. We learn some animal quadruped and biped positions as a warm-up and then focus on strength and flexibility using some of our favorite—and new—animal-based asana. This session also welcomes personal trainers and group instructors with no yoga experience. Welcome to the zoo! (Equipment: yoga mats if possible)

Athletes & Asanas

Yury will show how to dimensionalize yoga to attract more athletic types to training for a two-part experience featuring strength-based yoga and working in flexibility-based yoga. You will learn how to choose asana to complement athletic performance, augment athletic body awareness to prevent injury, and aid recovery through restoration. (Equipment: yoga mats if possible)

Be Yo-ga®: Forms and Flows

Join Yury for a workshop demonstrating ways to mix non-traditional —yet mindful— music (featuring Beyonce, hence the title) with the practice of various types of Hatha yoga, decreasing the sometimes-vast distance between pop (culture) and prana. Some consider Ashtanga-inspired practice too difficult for all or esoteric to others, but Yury will show you ways to incorporate progressions and regressions to make it accessible to all. Learn how to fuse into a mind-body barefoot workout experience the four elements of earth, fire, water, and air with movement that complements these elements. Yury’s “Spirited” program appears internationally with its appealing, easy combination of 20-minute sections of barefoot & mindful strength, cardiovascular, and flexibility sections. Learn to give our body all of our workout needs in 60 minutes using just our bodyweight and non-traditional, complementary music. (Equipment: yoga mats if possible)

Get Yury’s class ideas and moves to create a flowing, balanced muscle conditioning experience using barefoot bodyweight. Hit the Wall:

Some tools are readily available to us that we often ignore using them: like our own bodyweight and A WALL. Come experience creative ideas to implement the wall in different movement combinations and experiences from strength & cardio conditioning to mobility enhancement. You’ll definitely have a wall! Join Yury for an exploration of how to be inspired in various ways as personal trainers, group ex instructors, and fitness consumers with the goal of tuning-up for a fresh physical and spiritual feeling. Spirited Tune-Up: Toes to Nose

Join Yury for an in-depth look at self-care as we put attention to our breath, brains, and bodies. Starting with the intrinsic muscles of our feet that carry us through our lives, we will learn some movements from rehabilitation that help reprogram one of the most common threads among all mindful modalities, our bare feet. We will also learn small adjustments to several other body parts including hips & shoulders, some organs, and meridians. Finally, we will experience rejuvenating, powerful uses of prana (breathwork) to realign our sense of self to feel like we’ve had a “tune-up” on many levels. (Equipment: yoga mats if possible)

Recovery Through Meditation

Learn with Yury the background to traditional tenets of Buddhist meditation: from principles to prana to practices. Instead of learning just the theory, we will practice traditional, authentic meditation to gain some new pranayama skills and drills to implement into life and use with clients and classes almost immediately for both physiological and psychological benefits for mind and body. APP-etite for Wellness: Your Smartphone Hack

Uncover with Yury hidden gems and unlocked potential right on your digital devices to not only “connect” socially, but also stay “connected” to yourself and your wellness. Learn to hack some technological tips with applications for smartphones, get great discoveries for apps on productivity, brain training, health, nutrition, binaural beats and many other tools that can enhance quality of your life. With a science-based current understanding of the aging mental and physical process, any age can teach active aging clients. Learn secrets and tips from Yury’s current research study for adding mindfulness, meditation, and music with our active aging clients. We also will address balance from a mental—as well as physical-perspective.

Two of the most authentic and natural forms of human movement are walking and running. Exploring running techniques in the water not only mimics (and creates an adaptation for) better land movement, but also challenges us to become more efficient and mindful of our form, muscle activation, and breathing, all without excessive wear on our joints! Join Yury to experience most effective and innovative way to enhance your cardiovascular capacity while submerging your head in the water, and using land-based pieces of fitness equipment to challenge both your strength and endurance.
